Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

 hey guys,

has anybody heard from york this past week? I haven’t heard anybody speaking of them recently ?

My application just says under consideration since April and York's email response regarding it was just "you can expect to hear from us by end of June".

Are you an internal or external applicant?

Is there anyone that accepted Humber offer but not planning to go. Perhaps got another offer and no more going through with humber’s.

Are you on the wait-list? I know some people have rejected their offer and will be going somewhere else.

I did my undergraduate from York University years ago but masters elsewhere.

Okay so you applied through OUAC? Because mine says "No decision yet" this whole time and I noticed that for others it says "Under Consideration" but I just guessed it was because they applied internally through the York website.

Yea, I’m on Humber waitlist. I reached out to them yesterday and they said all offers have been sent and appears to be accepted. So people on the waitlist can only get a spot if someone who accepted previously changed their mind.

Like under Decision it says "No Decision Yet"

Big congratulations! Were you on the waitlist before receiving the call? If so, would you mind sharing for how long? Thanks!

Hey!

I was put on the waiting list June 1st. My Summer course grades haven't been posted yet on our student center, so it's possible that I got offered admission without accounting for my Summer improvements (so the waitlist cutoff could be at 83.0% atm, otherwise it's at 84.0%). Also, this is all assuming that they solely look at applicant averages from highest to lowest (the nursing academic counselor sort of suggested otherwise though).

For Nipissing, anyone else's final transcript status for the outstanding/received docs still say "submit by deadline"?

Thanks for your help! Roughly 2 weeks seems to be a common timeline around here for hearing back. I was waitlisted on the 11th, so I'm guessing I need to be patient and wait. My phone is attached to my hip though, the thought of it all relying on a call is terrifying. Congrats again! I'm sure it is a huge relief ?

I emailed Nipissing and my Webadvisor now says received. However, they emailed me back saying my transcript still says "cleared to graduate". They want me to contact my school and send them a new transcript showing that I am graduated by June 30th. I'm getting kind of stressed because I selected the option on OUAC for "after degree conferred".

Can I ask when you were placed on the wait-list/when you applied? I'm also waitlisted.
