Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Does u of t send rejections together at the end or are rejections sent in between too ? I completed my application in January but it still says application received .

I’m also still waiting to hear from UofT! From what I’ve seen on this forum, there are students who have already been rejected throughout the last few months (they’ve posted stating their rejection notice).

Wait? There are students rejected from uoft?

I don't think so. I think we all either get rejected or waitlisted or accepted by June 30.

unless theres someone who got rejected already?

I think anyone who would have gotten rejected would have been so because they did not meet the requirements (maybe below 75% average, did not complete supp application ect). I have not yet heard of anyone get rejected who met the requirements. Could be wrong though!

Has anyone heard from uoft in the last 2+ weeks? or today?

I am in my last semester right now and I got conditional offer from York back in February. I was also doing one of their prerequisite (Microbiology) at that time. After my Fall semester, my last 10 courses GPA was 3.74/4.00. For CASper, I am not confident with my performance because some of my answer was incomplete due to my typing skill. I am not sure how they weight CASper score tbh.

What is the passing grade for york Microbiology pre requisite

I just emailed McMaster Nursing admissions to ask for an update on my application, I will let you all know how it goes! It's kind of frustrating to be pending still this late in the game without any answer at all.

??? crossing my fingers

Just turned down my offer at mac for western, so someone should get in off the waitlist.

Did anyone hear from UofT today? I've been "application received" since applications were due in Feb and starting to get worried

I am curious too with U of T!! Anyone got accepted from the past 2 or 3 weeks or so?
