Anyone applying to NP school in Ontario for the year 2025?

Would love to have a discussion started for acceptances, etc.

I am just hoping tomorrow they send out more....

I love this group forum because it feels like we're all in it together 🙂

Just received offer of admission for UofT! I have until April 7 to confirm. If anyone has any insights from others who have completed their NP at either UofT or TMU that would be greatly appreciated. I have heard that TMU has a strong emphasis on community hence their placements may align with that and LTC. UofT has already indicated that they are transitioning to single NP stream whereas TMU has not announced the transition and are still following primary health care model.

Specializes in ER , L&D.

What's the difference between single stream vs PHC model?

I just got my acceptance into the UofT MN-NP Program as well! Went to a compressed nursing program, cGPA 3.7, 2 years ED experience. Have a decent amount of leadership experience from work!

Congrats!! 😃

1. Single Stream Model

A more general NP education model that allows for a broad range of practice.

May include multiple specializations within a single program (e.g., Family NP, Adult-Gerontology NP, Pediatric NP).

Graduates can choose a variety of settings to work in, including primary care, acute care, and specialty care.

Some programs allow students to select a specialty later in the program.

2. Primary Health Care (PHC) Model

Focuses specifically on primary care, preventive care, and managing chronic diseases.

Prepares NPs to work in community clinics, family health teams, and rural or underserved areas.

Emphasizes holistic, patient-centered care and continuity of care.

Congrats to everyone who got in today. It's a special day for you all!

thank you for the explanation! Do you know if U of T is the only school that's single stream? I also applied to UOttawa and York

Congratulations to everyone! I was wondering for those who got in has anyone heard from the PMNP stream?

The waiting is killing me 😔

Just received my UofT acceptance today as well! I got the e-mail at 12:34 to check my portal. I went to UofT's nursing program, 4.0 GPA, about 3 years of experience as an oncology nurse. Still waiting to hear back about scholarships and awards. Good luck to everyone!! 🙂

Thank you! You too. I've applied to York, McMaster, and Western, so I'm hoping to hear back from at least one. I'll be finishing my master's program this April and wondering if that might be a hindrance to my acceptance.
