Anyone applying to NP school in Ontario for the year 2025?
Would love to have a discussion started for acceptances, etc.

Hello! Question for you... did you ask specifically about the MN NP Program or the Post Masters NP program? Just curious to know 🥹

Has anyone heard from the U of T Post Masters Diploma yet? The anxiety is getting to me.
I am also wondering this! I applied to it and have yet to hear back, but I didn't just apply last week so it's very early for me. I have not heard of anyone getting a post-masters offer from UofT.

Yes same, I'm curious to see how many applicants apply this year. I think you have a very high chance of getting in considering what you had posted I have no doubt. I am still finishing my Masters, so I'm sure people who have completed it will be placed at higher interest.

Thank you 🙂 There are a few different reasons (I am still trying to research. Please take this with a grain of salt because I am still trying to learn about the differences)
1. Placements. In the online recording (information session at UofT) the program coordinator mentioned that UofT has their own affiliation with the hospitals. She also mentioned that in the final placement they try their best to accommodate students who have a specific area of interest. Coming from tmu as an undergraduate (I LOVED tmu don't get me wrong), but I do remember many students would be placed in LTC or community placements as a consolidation. I just don't want to run the risk of being in that situation in the NP Program. Again, loved my experience at TMU but that does feel like a "pro" that UofT has great affiliations to UHN and other clinics.
2. I love that UofT is now focusing on all ages across the continuum AND all settings. I am unsure right now if I want to work in a clinic or inpatient. I like that UofT provides exposure to all settings. If I like PHC, great. If not, then I like that I will have exposure to other settings.
3. I have heard that TMU is focusing more on community health care and family practice clinics. Which is amazing, (and I may end up in that role one day) but I like that UofT isn't specifically focusing on community healthcare and focuses on acute care as well.
4. I am trying to learn about the consortium... apparently UofT is not a part of it. Tmu is. I need to learn if that's a good or bad thing that UofT is not a part of the consortium. From my understanding, the consortium provides a standardized approach for most NP schools. I assume that means UofT may have a unique design for the program that isn't "standardized". Again, I need to read more into this.

Ahh amazing, congratulations! You must be so happy and relieved. Would you be okay sharing some info about your application, like how many years of practice and GPA? Just looking to get a rough idea of the way they assess their applicants history

GPA: honestly I don't know the exact number, but I am pretty sure it was a 3.83
Career: 2 years experience as an RN. Primarily in oncology in an outpatient setting (but still at a Toronto hospital). I applied with less than the necessary hours. The moment I hit the amount of hours >3600 and >3900, I emailed the schools.
Leadership: involvement in nursing committee during undergrad. I continued working on various councils within my hospital. One research assistant project. Granted an award for nursing excellence within my hospital.

Congrats! Can I ask when your interview was? Does the email have an official offer of admission?
