Ontario BScN and RPN 2016 start hopefuls

Published

Just wanted to make thread for all applicants applying for the 2016 year ! Feel free to introduce yourself and what programs and colleges you are applying too.

Hopefully we can help each other get though the wait:)

I applied for St.Clair college BScN and RPN Programs as well as Georgian in Owen sound for BScN. So far I got my acceptance for Georgian. St.Clair I have to wait until mid March:nailbiting::whistling:

Hey everyone,

I applied to the 2 year BScN programs at Mac, Western, Queens and York.

After the Feb 1st deadline, Queens got back to me in a weeks time telling me I didn't get in. When I called for feedback on my application, I found out they made a mistake with my application (super annoying) and have just found out that I have gotten in!

I just finished writing the CASPer test for MAC and York, so I can't imagine I will hear from those schools anytime soon.

I also have a friend in the Western program who said that the curriculum is changing and they have been removing some important placements (child and family health & mental health) from their program. Therefore, the curriculum posted online is NOT the one that the current students are following and it will not be the one that will be followed Sept 2016.

Anywho, good luck to all applicant's!

Hi everyone,

I have applied to a bunch of Ontario programs as well. I have a health care background and am going back to school for nursing. I heard back from Humber a couple of weeks ago but am still waiting on McMaster and Western Fanshawe. Anyone out there heard back from either of those two? Good luck everyone!

I hope you get in ! which one do you want the most?

I heard from Fanshawe for Medical radiation technology and just got accepted into that. But nursing acceptances might go out at a different time i'd email admissions and ask.

I've been doing that not much longer tho !

That is true! Hopefully there will be something available by 2020! You never know, the world of nursing is forever changing. Wow it's weird saying 2020 lol.

Have you has anymore thoughts on what program your going to choose ? I know I am slow replying so I thought id ask. lol

I haven't heard anything about acceptances yet just heard "middle of march" . Now I just obsessively check ocas every day hahaha. Any word for you yet? :)

Still nothing from St.Clair ! hopefully the end of next week. Let me know if you hear anything ! and i'm leaning more towards BScN but I have until May to decide luckily. But more then likely BScN.. I was also accepted to Fanshawe for MRT I hear it's a great program i'm debating between that and nursing lol.. But likely nursing.

So are you coming to Queen's? Because I am!

Yeah I don't blame you, I would probably choose it to but I feel like i'm at that age where I need to get things going you know? 4 more years of school sounds daunting lol but then again I would love the extra education and extra time to get to know my field... lol Yes I am always lost.

Thats awesome! Congrats :) I wanted to apply as well but unfortunately I am missing physics....... haha oops.

I will let you know ASAP if I hear anything. I keep obsessively checking and then I thought hmm I should check on here too! lol. I hope it is next week I am kind of going nuts lol

Yeah MRT is great but moving with my daughter might be hard but i'v been looking into some schools in London just incase.. I applied at St.clair for RN, RPN and Ultrasound so fingers crossed. I heard mid term grades just went in as so as soon as I see something on OCAS i'll post on here ! I'm quite sure you'll get into RPN :) I know a few people in the program they say it's busy but they seem to be enjoying it and I know near the end there is a mental health and med surg placement.

Next week I hope ! lets go St.CLair lol

Hey megankyla,

Just waiting to hear back from Mac, it is my first choice.

Decisions, decisions....Queens is looking pretty good though!

Maybe I will see you this September! :) Congrats on getting in!

Yeah that would make things a lot harder! I am sure you will get in too :)

Ohh exciting! I would love to try a med surg placement.

Gah I am going nuts! Nothing yet! lol I keep checking Ocas obsessively and on here hahaha. I wish they gave you an online account or somthing like other colleges do then I would check that obsessively too hahaha.

You can check on self service log in under the tab student services at the bottom of the page there will be a list of courses you applied too. It should say Incomplete next to each one with a yellow symbol but when you are admitted it will be a green check mark. I check that as well LOL still nothing for me as well from St.Clair ! so don't worry. I'm getting to the point where I want to email the reg office haha.

Oh I don't have a Self serve account for St Clair! Haha how did you get one? I do not have a student id or anything. Same It's technically the middle of March, gosh were impatient hahaha
