Online Science Prereq Courses - Transferable

Published

Hello,

I'm on the last term of my LVN program and I am interested in starting on my prereqs for the bridge program. I especially want to finish the science classes online within the next 3 - 4 months. I've found some options but I'm concerned that these credits won't transfer to my local community college (College of the Canyons). Does anyone here have experience with taking Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology online has was able to successfully transfer to a California Community College?

I was looking at Azusa Pacific but the price tag is a bit high (around $8,000). I was also thinking about ISP. They are a brick and mortar school but they have accelerated weekend courses - around $2,000 per class.

Any pointers are very welcome!

Perhaps it would be best to contact your school and ask them if they would accept the credit?

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Look into CalCampus. They are accredited, totally online and somewhat affordable. See if your local community college will accept courses from CalCampus.

I just contacted my school and they will accept Azusa pacific. It's pricey but I need to get my prereqs done in a year. Best part - it's all 100% online.

Look at clovis college. A lot of student's in my BSN program are taking chemistry and micro there and tuition is great! I took Microbiology at Edukan which is a consortium of colleges which is regionally accredited.

Thank you, The commuter and woodsyny! I will look into those schools. I hate that Azusa is $8,000 for 4 classes. I can't do CalCampus because they don't do financial aid. I will look into Clovis college. I'm trying to keep my debt low but I am in a hurry. Of course, I'm not desperate. A handful of friends in my LVN program are going to West Coast once we graduate. There's no way I'm paying $137,000 for my BSN!

Do you know if once you obtain the LVN License can you start RN school right after it, or you have to gain some experience working as a LVN first?

What LVN School are you attending?

Thank YOU.
