Hello, I've been a long time lurker and was wondering if y'all have recommendations for online RN-BSN programs? I've been quoted around $18,000 for a few online programs such as GCU and Chamberlin. I'm looking for more of a test/quiz based program since I don't do too well in writing. Do any of you have suggestions on what programs I should look at that are in the same price range?

I went to University of Texas at Arlington. I really recommend the program. There were a large number of papers, but I feel like many RN-BSN programs are going to be like this. There were also a lot of group projects, tests, and quizzes though.

I recently completed the online RN-to-BSN program at Western Governors University. It took me 10 months, 34 credits, and $5,800 in tuition and fees total.
Half of my courses required no papers and ended in final objective examinations that were proctored.

Is that program online, did it seem easy? How was the final proctored, did you have to find a proctor?

PERRLA/Word combo is a great tool to use for APA formatting. It made APA writing soooo easy. My coworker who went to OU with me was in the last semester when I informed him about the program.

You may also take your exams at a local testing center while proctored. WGU has arrangements with an extensive network of testing centers.

Thanks Commuter! I am considering WGU's RN to BSN program. I wonder what obstacles I would come across if I decided to pursue a FNP or DNP at another institution after completing a BSN at WGU.
