Well, you need to decide where you want to live first. Canada's a big country, second only to Russia in land mass but with a population equal to that of California. I see your specialty is chemical dependency/rehab/psych; what does your husband do? Knowing that will help weed out the inappropriate places...
Thanks, Caliotter3! I didn't realize that indeed.com had a Canada link. We aren't sure where we would like to live, yet, janfrn--we're still considering different provinces. And, yes, I'm aware of the size of Canada, as I've been there numerous times, and both my father and brother own houses in a remote area of Ontario.
I'm in the same boat at the moment and live outside of Canada. I've recently just passed the CRNE and am looking for a job. I look on Workopolis.com and hospital websites direct. does anyone know of any agencies in Ontario that perhaps help with getting employemtn for nurses???
and Jen the RN2009....good luck with your move!!!!!
I think I'd skip Workopolis and sites of that sort and just go directly to hospital and health region sites. All vacancies will be posted on those sites, whereas the other generic job finder sites will only have one or two difficult-to-fill positions. It's also probably a waste of time looking at newspaper classifieds since the positions listed there are going to be agency (casual) and doctor's office/clinic jobs where there won't be the resources to hire from outside the country.
Hi DEMS
I think if you contact Health Force Ontario they will be able to give you answers to your questions about job vacancies and recruitment in Ontario. http://www.healthforceontario.ca/ContactUs.aspx

To repeat janfr - don't waste time with ads, go directly to the source. I suggest submitting your CV and resume to the HR department of every hospital you're interested in, even the ones that are not officially hiring. I did that and the first few calsl I got were from the hospitals with no job postings.
Good luck!

Better have a read of this thread. Things are getting tougher across the country.

Hello,
I'm from far-Northern Wisconsin, and my husband and I have been seriously discussing immigrating to Canada. I took the online immigration assessment tool from the Canadian government and according the the results, we would be viable candidates. I'm an RN, and I have no idea where online I could search for possible jobs. Could someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks so much!
