Does anyone know of any online reputable schools? I've been a nurse for 6 years and would like to complete my BSN from home.
Thanks!:lghmky:

Many colleges and universities now offer RN-BSN programs online. Check out schools in your area.
I've heard about many of the online nursing programs. Has anyone obtained their degree from one? Any replies would be greatly appeciated.
Welcome to my world! Nightshift has a multitude of benefits. First off, their are no Dr's, Social Workers, Patient Care Managers, etc. breathing down your throat. You'll have the availablity to spend more time with your patient...even though you may have 8-9 of them. I've come across very, very few nightshifts where I was bored. Those poor little confused patients are even more confused at night. You know, stripping down naked walking down the hall...with just a hat and scarf on...thinking they are off to their job! I feel that you get to know your patient better at night. You are able to look at your patient an see that they have fears and need a hand to hold. You can spend more time with your dying patient comforting them during their last moments. There are other added benefits...I can go home and sleep for a few hours if I have a dr. appointment to go to. Yes, it can wreck havoc on your body at times. I suggest that you take a multivitamin and drink plenty of water. Make sure you have room darkening shades and a fan to block any noise.:smilecoffeecup:A little of this does help!

I was an LVN with 20+ years of experience and went to Excelsior College ( in NY). Is was so great. they have all the resources you can imagine. There is always someone there to hlep you. I did that because I had to work and need something that I could work around my schedule. I graduated in 2000. Just google it or call them, they will send you all the information. I know several others who have gone through them and have been very satisfied.
Good luck to you.

I did the University of Phoenix online ADN to BSN completion - finished it in 18 months - lots of work but doable.

I am currently in an online RN to BSN program with a local university. My two cents, pick a 'real' bricks and motar school in your state that offers completly online format. I say this because when your degree is from an in state university that is well known it will carry a bit more weight then a true online school. Thats just my opinion and what I went for. Plus when I graduate I will have a degree from a local university which ment a lot to me. if you investigate you may find some in state universitys where you live offer such programs.
