Tacoma Community College Winter 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I got picked in the lottery for the Tacoma Comm College Nursing program cohort of winter-2015. Since I still haven't received the email confirming my spot, I would like to hear from people who also won a spot. More importantly, I would love to hear from current students of this program. I am applying to others schools in the Seattle area and I am not sure if this program is highly recommended.

Best of luck to all of us!!

You can look at my thread regarding the lottery and I would contact Theresa about your lack of a letter!

Hi Stunurse. Thanks for your reply and for you "TCC Fall 14" post. I was not aware of the issue with the lottery system. Since you seem to be working in the nursing field, I am coming from a different background, I wonder if you have any information regarding how the Nursing professionals rate the program at TCC. I see that their NCLEX passing rate have been dropping in the last 4 years. Thanks once again!

You are very welcome! I do not know personally anyone from TCC's program but what interested me was their simulation lab. They received a grant to get high tech "dummy's" for students to work with. Which for myself I learn best by doing. If I can make mistakes on dummy's instead of patients I'm all for it! As for the nclex pass rate I'm not sure why they would decline for so long. Sorry wish I could be of more help in that dept.

I'm also part of the 2015 cohort, just wanted to say hi!

The new building is beautiful, and should come with new technology, and all kinds of other positive impact on the program overall.

Looking forward to getting started!

HI!!

I am also part of the 2015 Cohort! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and accomplishing our GOAL together!!

Hey guys,

anyone know if nursing students wear uniform every day, or just to clinicals? Maybe lab? Trying to figure out if I need 2 sets, or more like 5! Quite sure I can ask on Thursday at orientation too, just curious if anyone already knew :)

Labs/clinical/off campus events I have two sets. Level one I'm sure at the other levels it will be different.
