Marymount University 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi,

I'm applying to Marymount university's traditional BSN program for next spring (application is due this summer). I have around a 3.0 GPA and am taking the TEAS soon but I have great recommendations and volunteer work. I'm very nervous my GPA will hurt me and I won't get in. Can anyone tell me their stats and if they got in or not? I'm thinking if I don't get in I'll retake a couple classes and apply for the accelerated program so I can hopefully graduate around the same time. So any advice you guys can give me on admissions at Marymount would be amazing! Thank you!!

Hi all! I applied for the accelerated program for Spring 2018 as well. I live in the Baltimore area so I'm not exactly local as in I live in Arlington or northern Virginia, but I'm not very far! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! I'm jealous you all have gotten your letters, I keep checking the mail like a madwoman and nothing! Good luck to everyone :) :) :)

ViviennesHeart I applied for traditional and got my letter on Monday! I'm not sure about everyone else but (correct me if I'm wrong) Mino32 applied for accelerated and got her letter Monday too. Don't worry, I'm sure your letter is coming soon!! You too futurenurse0424, if we got our letters two days ago I'm sure yours is on the way! Good luck!!

I'm sure yours is on the way ViviennesHeart and futurenurse0424! The accelerated and traditional pathway had the same due date. From what I can tell they're sending them out day by day as mine was post marked the 14th and pamirzadeh's was the 15th so they very well could be in the mail today!!That is a drive futurenuse0424! Are you planning on moving or commuting?

From what I've heard, we will be given a sheet to fill out our preference in time slots for classes (morning, afternoon, evening) and then they'll email you (I believe) and ask for a response to confirm the slot. It's a first come first serve basis so the individual I spoke to said she was glued to her email because she desperately wanted the afternoon session. Then your classes will fall within that time slot for the week. She didn't remember all the days she went but she believes she was off Fridays. This individual is in the accelerated program so I'm not sure if it will differ for the traditional but I cannot imagine by much!

Hi,guys I applied for accelerated bsn as well my stats BS degree Health Science 2.98 overall 3.1 pre-req gpa liscensed and certified phlebotomist with health care experience working in hospital. I don't think I got accepted I emailed admissions to ask about the letter all they told me that decisions have been made for Spring 2018,and that I should expect a letter in mail,I am wondering why they can't give me that information in email. Regardless congrats to all that have been accepted.

Mino32 I would definitely move down to Arlington into an apartment! That would be far too long of a drive to do every day. I applied to other programs as well near here. Fingers crossed I hear today or someday soon from Marymount!!! Good luck to those who haven't heard as well and congrats again to those who got accepted!!

RN2018VA Please keep us updated! I applied to the accelerated as well!!!

Hey guys just called Marymount for the nursing program the nurse counselor says if nothing comes by mail by Monday that I should email the nurse counselor for my admissions decision, unfortunately they will not give information over the phone about nurse program admittal .

Hey guys! So I've been talking to the advisor that helps you pick classes and stuff and I need some advice! So I was accepted into the traditional program but she also gave me the option to wait a semester and start the accelerated program. I would graduate at the same time as if I started this spring because I'll have one semester of core classes (fall 2018) and then Ill start the program spring 2019. I'm so torn!! Does anyone know how hard the accelerated program is, what the schedule is like, etc? I can't decide what to do :-( any advice you guys have is greatly appreciated!!

That is a difficult decision bharveyy! What are the pros of waiting and doing the accelerated if you graduate as the same time as if you started this spring? I haven't heard back regarding registration just yet so I cannot help you definitively. The person I know in the program said she went Monday-Thursday and usually had Fridays off though sometimes she had lab during Friday depending on the class. You have two blocks of schedules to choose from, Morning and Afternoon, but I'm sure not the start or end times of them yet. It's definitely a full-time program and she states it's extremely tough but very rewarding.

Nothing in my mail today. Did anyone hear?

Hi @pamirzadeh :) I am moving to the area around December. I was accepted for the Fall ABSN program but deferred for Spring 2018. Should I look for apartments in the Alexandria area or Arlington? Looking for a 1 bedroom for my BF and I. I don't really know much about the area. Any advice on apartment complexes or anything? I have LOTS of questions!!

Nothing in my mail today :( I contacted the admissions office and the nursing counselor to hopefully see what's up. Anyone else hear?!?!
