LIU brooklyn fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for LIU brooklyn BSN students of FALL 18. I will be starting my nursing/clinical phase in September 18 and I was admitted as a transfer student. Is anyone starting around the same time? Also, if you're a current student, is there any helpful feedback or advice you can provide for new students? How is the clinical experience? Professors? School in general? etc.

Thank you and hopefully we'll get to meet in school! :cat:

hey guys, I still did not get any email from the school about the orientation but I guess I'll just show up on the 4th and see what happens. When I called one of the advisors, she said that we would have an online orientation instead and that we would receive a link by email. At this point I have no idea what is going on. In the email does it say to register for the orientation first or just to show up on the 4th? Also, what time is it?

hey thank you so much for the curriculum link! I've been looking for it forever. I wish they had it split up into semesters so we could see what classes to expect because if going in order by the list, it seems as though we were suppose to have the 321C clinical this semester but instead I was told to register for the 340 pharmacology class. So confusing!

Trying to remain positive but the disorganization isn't giving me a good vibe.

Hopefully, this is not an indication of how this journey will go.

Ugh same here. There is so much miscommunication and school hasn't even started. I still haven't received any email about the orientation so don't have any info on that at all :/. Do you know the time and location?

Let's hope for the best!

Unfortunately it already has a rep for being extremely disorganized. The curriculum has changed but the administration hasn't, hopefully we can all get through it with the least amount of problems possible

Ikr! @nurseangela923 login here and read the orientation info. Event Registration

I'm not too sure if I'm gonna go. Hopefully, we can connect and help one another....seems like we're gonna need a support group :-)

Thank you. I will definitely call and find out if it's mandatory because I know the previous nursing orientations were. And yes I'm glad we were able to at least connect here because I wouldn't know half of this information!

Okay, has anyone completed the castlebranch stuff?

I just called the school ..I was told the 8/29 orientation was cancelled. No other info available. I haven't recieved any emails regarding a 9/4 orientation. I also finished all of the CBranch stuff except for CPR training as I won't be taking clinicals in the Fall. I agree with nurseangela923...too much miscommunication!

I don't understand why we need the castlebranch stuff now if we're not taking clinicals this semester and if we do the cbranch stuff now, will we have to do it (pay for it) again when we actually start clinicals? Similarly with the uniform, why do we need it now if we're only going to be in classroom setting?

(Just questions)

I agree. I asked tbe advisor about uniforms and CB since i have no clinicals and she directed me to email the dean. Did that...dean wrote back CB has to be completed for classes with clinicals or labs. Unfortunately did not respond to question about uniforms.

I ended up finishing all of the castle branch requirements because I was under the impression that we would have clinicals this semester. I agree, it doesn't make sense why we would need it now since we would only be spending time in a classroom.
