Welcome to allnurses, Icinic! I applied on November 1 through NursingCAS and got my admissions decision on Dec. 22. Best of luck!

@julietmei did have volunteer experience on your resume? What were you stats and did you take the gre?

I did not take the GRE. I spent three months living and working as a caregiver at an orphanage in China (it's actually a special orphanage for children with medical issues and needs) and I did mention that on my resume. But my undergrad degree was not in a science field.

I'm very late to this thread! I applied by the Nov. 1 deadline and heard of my acceptance on the 22nd of December! I've paid my deposit but I'm still waiting back from UMD's CNL program - which is also a master's degree.

To the people who were asking earlier, I know that yes for UMD, 15 credits (or around that) will transfer if one decides to pursue the DNP route afternoon completion of the CNL program. I'm not sure about anywhere else...but I haven't looked.

I applied, inadvertently, for the January 1st deadline. I'm hoping we hear back sooner than March!

Like, tomorrow or Friday haha. I can't stand the waiting game

I recently declined my offer of admission to Johns Hopkins, best of luck for people on the waitlist! I firstly just wanted to note that I am COMPLETELY honored to have even been considered at JHU, let alone accepted. I think what it really boiled down to was the disjointed MSN and DNP programs, the cost, and the length of the program. It was always my goal to end up as an FNP, and so continuing to the DNP program at JHU was a must for me, After talking to people on this thread, it became apparent that the MSN would take around 2 years with the DNP taking around another 2 1/2 years (these are rough estimates, this also includes the 16-unit transfer). That, to me, ended up being a lot more time than I had hoped for. Johns Hopkins is #2 in Nursing Schools in the country (I believe), I knew that my education would be stellar, but the time commitment was just too great for me. I also knew the longer I was there, the more I would have to be paying, and I couldn't justify how much I would be forking over just to stay in the program. Other programs (like Columbia, UPenn, Yale) were shorter, seemed to offer more resources and seemed more flexible than JHU. In the end, it was heartbreaking to know that it wouldn't work out. Nevertheless, I hope someone very deserving earns my seat at the table, best of luck to you all!

@TeachEm I totally see where you are coming from and agree with you! Good luck on your journey! I hope you were accepted to the other programs you mentioned so that you can continue pursuing your dreams!

They told us we wouldn't find out until January, but we ended up finding out the last week of December! So there's some hope...any day now! Good luck
