Augusta U- MSN/CNL- Fall 2018 Entry

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I don't see a group yet started for admission to the Fall 2018's Augusta U MSN/CNL program. I have read through the forum of the Fall 2017 group and it seems to have been very informative!

I am excited once this group starts getting some members, so we can discuss the process (and adventure?!) of applying and finishing pre-reqs!

I am a second career applicant who works full time as an office assistant to two MDs and 1 BSN now. I have previously been a CNA and worked as a PCT in a small rural hospital on the med/surg floor, but then went on to get a BA in English from UGA. After having been an assistant for 4 years and out of school for quite a few more, I am excited about starting this RN program and still question why I didn't do this from the beginning :-) Oh well, I feel I have a lot of real world experience now and I am a much better learner then before! I have four pre-reqs left. A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, and Human Development. I am planning on trying to CLEP the Human Development course this fall. Currently in the waiting process for acceptance into the Perimeter Campus of Georgia State University to start the other courses.

Looking forward to talking with all of you!

Hey jasminega!

They do not notify you by email, as you will have to check the website itself. (I did this almost every day three weeks after my interview lol) Login

It really is dependent upon what day you were interviewed though, and if your application was reviewed during their once-a-month meeting. I had my interview on October 20th and asked when a decision will be made, and was told that I should know in a few months. I believe the only reason they said this, though, was because if they say "a few weeks", then they may get bombarded with emails and calls from students who had waited "a few weeks". Honestly waiting for that decision was one of the most stressful times, so I understand the feeling! Good luck and I hope you get your acceptance soon!

Thanks FutureCRNAye!!

Hey everyone! I submitted my application on 11/09. Has anyone heard anything recently about interviews?

I am applying as soon as I take my GRE. I hope this will work.

To boost some of your confidence I heard that sometimes they do not have enough students in the Augusta GA program apply so they extend the application deadline.

I got an email from AU on the 23rd of October saying they got my application, and still nothing mentioning an interview. :( Patience is getting harder and harder! haha

What are your GRE scores like? I have the book

I don't know how true this is, so don't bet on this being a fallback.

I was told before I was accepted that they receive about 3 applications for each seat available in the program. I'm not saying that what you heard is not true, but I also don't want you guys to build yourself up on false confidence.

Just do the best you can, guys. I know that's easy to say coming from someone who has been accepted, but trust me. I thought I bombed my interview, and I still got in the program. Stay positive and confident, and prove that you belong here!

Also, just for a timeline that may help you guys since I saw someone else comment about their patience dwindling- I submitted my application on September 6th, and I did not get contacted for an interview until November 10th. Your time will come!

Hey everyday! I just submitted my application and everything today!

I know I am a little later compared to the rest of you guys, but can someone tell me how the waiting game works for this university. Do they email you an acceptance, or phone call or mail? congrats to everyone who got in so far and Good luck to everyone waiting!

They will mail you a letter usually within 6 weeks of an interview. I have heard in the past that some people have received phone calls but I feel like that's closer to the end of the application cycle when they are a lot busier because of the influx of applications coming in.

futureRN94,

I think the timing varies. I heard back for an interview less than a week after I submitted my application. Once I interviewed, they said about 6 weeks until I'd hear something, but I've had friends go through the program that said they heard back in about 4 weeks. I received a letter just less than 3 weeks after I interviewed, so I think it just depends on timing of when you submit your application.

Has anyone heard anything back lately?

No! I submitted my application on November 9th and I haven't heard anything yet! Im thinking that they are prob busy with finals and the holidays. When did you submit yours?
