Online grad pharm class...I need advice, quick!!!

Hey everyone, thanks for reading. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

I was thinking about taking an online graduate level pharmacology class through the University of Missouri this spring.

The problem I keep encountering is all schools want you to be a "degree seeking student", and I can't do that because I am a traveling nurse and want to eventually go back to Philly to apply, but can't for a while yet. Univ. Of Missouri lets you take classes as a non-degree seeking student. I have the okay to register and all.

The reason why I want to take a grad level class that would be challenging is bc my undergrad gpa sucks!!! Pretty badly too. 3.05.

Along with taking my CCRN and the GRE's do you think this class would up my chances of being accepted and 'look good' to the anesthesia department.

Thanks again. I really need advice.

The grad. pharm should help if you get an A in it. But GPA and GRE are the main factors to getting an interview, and the rest of the stuff is discussed during the interviews (exprerience, ccrn, etc.). If your GRE is 1050 + you should apply first and if no interviews then take the grad pharm class. Just my opinion. Best of luck.

There is one I took through University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) through the NP program as a non-degree seeking student. It was all online and not horribly difficult. Check that one out.

Can't hurt but you probably will get adv pharm in crna school. Schools also tend to look at college level science courses (chem, physics, etc) - it might help to take one of those instead (if you havent already) and score well. I've known people who take all these grad courses to "prepare" before applying and then don't get in. Try to get a feel from the school or other applicants to see if that will help. Good luck!
