Online BSN with no RN?

Published

I have a BS in Biology and wanting to go back to get my BSN/RN then onto MSN to get my NP.

Most of the online BSN programs I have found are RN to BSN completion which since I do not have my RN I can not do.

Does anyone know of any BSN programs that are online that do not require you to already have an RN?

University Of Wisconsin Oshkosh has a BS to BSN online ACCELERATED PROGRAM , that can be done in almost any state. The clinicals are done through your hospitals at home! Takes one year!

They require you to be from Wisconsin. I've already obtained information about them.

Specializes in ED/UC.

No they don't. I am from out of state! Tuition is the same no matter what state your from. It is $34,500. It is all on the website. Here is the list of states they allow!

Specializes in Med-Surge, ER, GI Lab/Scopes.
what I heard: Delmar College in Corpus Christi for the ADN. They also offer a BSN through Texas A&M. It is all on the same website. They set up the clinicals at a hospital in your area. I have not vistited the web site myself, but I find it hard to belive that you can get your RN on-line without even having your LVN/LPN first

I am in the BSN program through A&M Corpus Christi. I entered the program with an associate science degree from a Texas junior college. The coursework is online. The tests are online. Periodic HESI tests are taken locally through an approved proctor (I take mine at the local public school's administration building.). I am almost through with the program, scheduled to graduate in May or by the end of summer.

Things you should know.

1. It takes most students longer to get through the online program through A&M C.C.

2. Online students are allowed one year to complete one semester, and most I know need most of that year.

2. There are more assignments to assure understanding.

3. The online students in this program have a higher rate of passing the NCLEX than do the on-campus students.

4. I have worked with local hospitals to secure an affiliation with A&M so that I can perform clinicals locally.

I welcome any questions about this program.

University of Texas at Arlington has a program online, BSN without already having a BSN.
