Online applications

Hi, new here!

I'm a recent graduate and am searching for my first nursing job. While filling out online applications, one hospital in particular that I am interested in, I came across things I'm not sure how to answer involving licensing. Before I call and bother their HR department and possibly make a fool of myself, I'd thought I'd try to ask around first.

First-It asks for License status then there is a drop box with 4 options that include: "Compact St", "Magnet", "NA", and "Provisionl".......

I don't know what all of these mean, all I know is my license is active! lol

Second- At the bottom of this section it says "State Status 1" and then has a box for free typing.....again I have no clue what they want here. At first, I thought maybe the state? but they already asked for that in the same section so I'm at a loss.

Hope somebody out there has some idea! If not, I'm going to have to call. I don't want to fill out the application incorrectly and not even get considered or accused of falsifying information!

Thanks in advance!

How bizarre. I know that 'compact state' is relevant because it facilitates inter-state mobility, but I fail to see how any of those other things is relevant to your licensure status.

The sad truth - the majority of online application systems suffer from the same types of problems. Frequently the HR folks insert a lot of 'custom' fields and requirements - probably with the underlying thought to make their jobs easier - that make absolutely no sense to the applicant. Smart companies are now employing user interface specialists to analyze all of their online content and user interaction processes..... seems like this company did not do this.

I'm afraid you are going to have to bite the bullet... and contact HR for guidance. Be sure to let them know which areas of the application are (ahem) problematic for you. Maybe they will fix them.
