THe program takes 12 months why not go another 12 months and go for a MSN?? Just curious because I'm in the same boat and am looking into "bridge programs" - BS to MSNAnnlet
Making the transition from a non-nursing career to a BSN is alot to do in a 12 month period of time. This option would be good for someone that perhaps is not ready to decide what area of nursing they want to specialize in (MSN). You can always enter a BSN to MSN program at anytime once completing the program. For more information regarding direct entry programs you may want to review posts on the Graduate Student Nurse Forum at the following link

Hope this is helpful to you.

This program does sound great, especially for those of us in CA where it's a race to see what you get first, your nursing school acceptance letter or your first retirement check. But the bad news is this program is not doable for CA residents. See the UW website on this issue.
Cheers,
DL

Dave,
This one feature of the schools website that I loved. They disclose upfront on their website, what states accept their program and which states do not. Out of the question for Florida too...awe shucks :)

OK, I'm a bit slow what is the UW website?
Thanks
So if you do this program you can't get a CA or FL license or you just can't do clinicals in your state? I'm a bit confused.
Sunnyjohn,
This maybe a question to pose directly to the program advisor. We are just basing the comment about CA and FL, based on the UW website's information regarding their programs approval by the State Boards.

For those of you in CA, check out WGU's online BS-BSN
