So I am here wondering what to show to the BON when I go before them regarding my recovery? I was charged with a felony and have kept in close contact with the BON this past year and was informed that the BON in Nebraska doesn't differentiate between felonies and misdemeanors; what matters is what you do with the time during your suspension.
Now I self-reported over two years ago. As we know BON moves slowly in their investigation so by the time I faced charges I was already over a year into recovery and considered in "full remission" by my outpatient drug and alcohol therapist.
Since then I work at an addictions center for women and have cleaned up my life form the trauma I experienced after getting hooked on opiods following my preventative bilateral mastectomy (BRCA2 positive and never any issues with addiction in my life)...I have learned a lot.
I am currently on probation with the state for my felony and that is going well. I am just wondering what I need to bring with me when I go before the BON. Any advice or insight would be very very helpful.
Thanks!

I'd bring letters of reference from your current employer, something showing you have been negative on random drug and alcohol screens (I'm assuming your treatment program included them), a letter of successful completion from the IOP or rehab program you attended, and perhaps may want to get evaluated by a professional (if you can find someone that your state's recovery program works with, all the better, even tho it wouldn't be something FOR that program, their credentials would be more heavily considered). These are things my lawyer recommended, even though our situations are very different.
