One C in science prerequisite

Does anyone know anybody who got in a BSN program with one C in their prerequisite? However the rest are all As?

I did. It all depends on what school you are going to. I read a few days ago someone got into a program (niy sure if its adn or bsn) with a goa lower than 3.0.

I live in California. I heard it's a bit more competitive but I'm not quite sure. I took it over the summer with my newborn baby in the house. Not really sure how I can explain that...

Maybe go to your AN state forums and post asking what GPAs people were accepted into various programs with had. I would imagine with only 1 C tarnishing an otherwise perfect GPA, that you will likely be ok. Maybe just apply at a few different programs in case a lot of 4.0 hopefuls apply this round. Look at it this way. People in my area are generally accepted to the competitive programs with about a 3.65 and higher. This means they either got a C or 2 or a handful of Bs to go with there A's. 1 C will drop your GPA, but when you balance it out with the remainder of your A's, you will still have a high GPA. Also when you take your HESI/TEAS, or whatever entrance exam, if you do well on that, then you will have an even better chance. A few low grades can be balanced out with high entrance exam grades. Try not to stress too much, and just do your best to continue getting A's in your remaining pre reqs.

Thank you j.n.moore87! You def made me a lot better about it. I will be taking the TEAS soon as well!

I got accepted to one with a 3.5 GPA. Only C was in microbiology (dammit!) but I had a few Bs as well. It's possible.

Thanks for sharing compassionate_x! We have similar gpa as well. May I ask what state are you from?

Hi Karen, I know a person who has gotten in a nursing program in California with several Cs. I guess it depends on which schools. Where are you applying to?

Hey jc90,

Do you know which program they were admitted to? I'm looking at Bay Area schools so probably USF Samuel Merritt and all. Thanks!

I just got accepted to a BSN program with a 2.9 GPA. C+ in Micro, B-s in A+P. Don't sweat it too much!

The head of the program I am applying for told me not to retake my C. She wasnt overly concerned. I guess I will find out. Mine was Alg. Ugh. I hated that class...but it was years ago.

@karentran

She was admitted at Dominican bsn program. Are you applying for spring? I thought SMU deadline was last month?
