On-line learning vs.tele-conferencing

Published

I know that many of you are taking classes on-line. Which type of format do

you actually prefer:

100% on-line and complete class at your own pace

100% tele-conferencing, where you have to be home or wherever, and connected to your computer at a certain time

Combination of the two

Please give reasons why............. :balloons:

Specializes in Cardiology.

I enjoy online learning. I can work at my own pace at my own convenience. I'm not a fan of tele-conferencing though. Since you have to meet a certain time, you might as well go for the traditional classroom style where it's easier to interact with the teacher.

Online education. I like the flexible where I can study, do assignments, etc, when I want. My first profession is in information technology so I can figure out the computer. Also, I really enjoyed doing my virtual microbiology labs.

100% online

I'm a night shifter by circadian rhythms. I am often up most of the night whether I am working or not. The totally online format gives me the opportunity to complete classwork when it's convenient for me and when I feel productive - even if thats 3am. Also, at least in my program, there is more interaction among the students on the required discussion threads than I ever experienced in the traditional classroom setting.

I prefer online learning. The computer has more time to explain the topic to you than a teacher has patience.

Online 100% for me too.

- doesn't matter what shift you work

- can work at my pace and take my days off when I want (2/wk)

- classes are only 6 weeks long and I can take up to 4 weeks off between each class for my many vacations!

What's the name of it? I'm intrested, how much is it?

NurseDiva04,

I'm intrested in IT, we are going opposite directions. Why are you switching to nursing? I have RN lic. but only with an associate degree, I'm thinking of getting by bachelors in IT, do you think it's a good idea to do this online or you would recommend attending class the old fashioned way, do you know of any schools out there?

Thanks for your time!
