So here is my situation. I have decided to get my DNP, now here is the rub, I want to get my FNP and ACNP as well during the process. Would like to stay in the south, allergic to snow, if possible. Any ideas? Oh yeah, I forgot to add, it has to have no online element, all brick and mortar classes. Help a brother out. Thnaks:D

Man, why do you want to do the old fashion way?
That's how I roll dude. It may be a slow roll but it's mine.
No love? What's up?
They think you're old fashioned!
What is it that we nurses do very well? Communicate with our patients. I took a communication class once where they said 85% of communication is non-verbal. We are in a verbal profession folks. Online class takes that away and does not really exercise that strength in us.
Old fashion I may be, but I know how to talk to my patients and I am pretty sure they appreciate it.

Uh, you won't be doing online clinical. You'll be seeing patients face to face so you'll get that non-verbal communication.
Distance education does prevent you from having non-verbal communication with fellow students which is good as it prevents, "Excuse me professor. I'd like to waste everyone's time by trying to impress you.":D

I just graduated from the University of Miami with my MSN and know a little about their DNP program. They do meet face-to-face once a month on a friday, saturday, sunday for one year. From a few that I know that are in the program, they really like it. A lot of it is like an open discussion format and not just sitting in front of someone while they lecture. It is UM, so tuition is a little more, but you can get it done in one year.

ODU has a BSN to DNP program that is on campus only in Norfolk, VA. I live close to it but need distance programs lol. Any way you could look into that. They also have the DNP post masters if that is you.
