On-call pay

We get put on call either for 4 hours (3p-7p or 7p-11p) or 8 hours (day shift or night shift). We get paid $2/hr for being on call. We don't do this very often as we are usually very close to being full and one extra nurse as a tasker will give us all the admitability (sp?) we need.

Usually we just get cancelled (again, for the same hours as above) or offered a pull.

When we get placed on call for low census we get paid $3.25 per hour while we are on call, and 1 1/2 time if we get called back. We have to be able to be there in 30 minutes.

we have no on-call pay, get only regular pay if we end up going in to work, and are told "it is your choice whether or not you want to be available" In other words, sit at home and wait to see if you are called in...or tell them to lump it, and not get paid at all. what a crock.................

We get a lousy 1$ an hour if census is low, we are required to be on call for the time of our shift, 12 hours and have to be there in 20 min, also we only get regular pay if we are called in,

We get $1.25/hr for being on call and time and a half if we get called in. We have to be there within 30 minutes of being called.

$2.00/hr. on call. have to be there w/in 45 min. paid at reg. rate if called in. we also have on call to cover sick time. etc. we then get 1.5x our reg. pay if needed. it is all voluntary.

We do not receive on-call pay. We have to stay available till the beginning of the shift and that is it. So if my shift starts at 6:45 and I am called off at 5am, I have to be available for call-back until 6:45. Once the shift starts, we are not obligated to come in if we were previously called-off earlier during the day.

We can get called off if census is low and there is too much staff for the numbers (yes, we refer to our patients as "numbers." But yet, somehow, a television show is at the root of the problems in nursing :confused: )

Anyhoo..... whether or not we are on call depends on how many people are called off. They usually like someone on call for 6 hours of the 8 hour shift. So for days, they like someone on call from 7a - 1p. So it's broken down like this:

1 person granted off = on call from 7a - 1p.

2 people granted off = 1 on call from 7a - 10a and another on call from 10a - 1p.

more than 2 granted off = same as above, and everyone else is FREE! NO CALL! In that case, the one's for whom it has been the longest since they last got called off, they get no call. The more recent dates get call.

On-call pay is $1.75 / hour.

We can sign up for on call daily. Two people per shift, first come first serve.

We get 2$ an hour and double time if called in, even if its not overtime. We must be available for the entire 12 hour shift.

Even when we aren't on call we get double time if we come in on less than 24 hour notice.

Some of us were making mad bank, but are now worn out.

We get 2.00 anhour on call pay; we are on call for 12 hours, if called in its 1 1/2.

Where I used to work we got paid $2.50 per hour for on-call, and time-and-a-half for on-call worked. We had to be there in 30 minutes or less, so those who lived further away could not be placed on call.
