OMG! IDK It Was Gonna B Like This!

Published

Ok, we started school on the 20th last Thursday. On the first day they assigned us 4 chapters to be due the next day. And everything has to be handwritten! They said because they dont want us to copy and paste our work. And now due monday is 11 chapters! And Friday we have a test on about 10 different chapters. Can anyone tell me any tips on studying for that much info?

Thanks :)

Personally my study method was to pay laser sharp attention in class and skim the chapters...try to skim ahead so that you have questions prepared for the lecture.

Get used to it...only gets worse :D......:crying2:

You will have to study harder and devote more time than you ever have before in your life. NS sucks but study hard today because once your a Nurse you will really really need it.

Whats the saying? "We sweat today so that we don't bleed tomorrow"

Welcome to nursing school! :wink2:

When did you find out about the test? Most schools will give you a handout that lists all of the exams you will have for the semester, when they will be given and what chapters will be covered, so you need to plan ahead. Read the material that will be covered in class the night before, then when you are in class pay attention and take good notes. Ask the teacher about anything you are unclear on. Go home and recopy or type of your notes and make sure you fully grasp the material, do the homework, and make flashcards. The night before the test, review all the notes and quizz yourself with the flashcards. It's a lot of work but it's doable if you stay on top of it and study every day.

Get a study group!!! Assign sections to each person in the group. Have each student take notes while reading. Type them up and share them w/ the others. Honestly, you can't read everything. This breaks everything in half!!! Half of your notes are done along w/ the reading. WIN-WIN! Now, you may think, "what if people in my group miss important info that I myself would have mentioned." This could happen, but, it could also happen after you have been reading for hours and are only half done.

Thank you, don't tell her though she already thinks she is crowned royalty :p

Oh ok, I guess I didn't think about that, we have very little homework that is due. 98% of our grade is all exams so when I kept seeing all these chapters due I was clueless. LOL

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the advice. And yes, Mi Vida Loca, its homework! We have to do all the chapter terms and the objectives that are at the beginning of each of the assigned chapters! Its rough because I have 2 other classes too! But, wit a prayer, I will make it through. Matties Mama, they give us a semester calendar, but its just so much to try and study for a test. They throw such much at us. And Im bout to make note cards right now and hop to studying.

Thanks again everyone! :D
