Olympus washers vs Custom Ultrasonic washers

Does anyone have a preference?

On the unit where I work, we currently have washers from custom ultrasonics. Lately, we have been experiencing problems with breakdowns and customer service. We use olympus scopes and were looking into the olympus washers. We have six rooms (run 5 most days) and have anywhere from 40-60 procedures a day.

Anyone have pros/ cons, likes/dislikes, or even a different preference.

Em... I think olympus brand is quite good. because we r also using that kind of brand. The problem is only the maintainance. If u r not maintain is frequently, that may be a big problem. Especially the Scoop, eventhough it is very lousy and boring, but it is very necessary. However, for me Olympus brand is the best.

Thanks Loz. My manager decided to get the olympus washers. I just hope that they get cared for like our scopes;)

We use Custom Ultrasonics. We have had good success although water temp is critical with them vs. DSD's Also the filters are kindof pricey. We do about 400cases/month. I don't know about the speed of the DSD's but we can do 8 scopes simultaneously evry 30 minutes

We have two Olympus DSD machines. Each machine has Two sides, and we use Olympus scopes. Turn over time is just under 30 minutes . I like the machine myself.

Lets clarify the brand name of the Olympus DSD. Is it in fact the Medivator? The only FDA approved disinfection machine in the industry is the custom ultrasonic machine. If the service in your area is poor, and it's a dealer, you need to call the corporate office to report this poor service.
