OLOLC @ Tulane Hospital in New Orleans.

HI, I wanted to know do anyone have information or are attend Our Lady of the Lake College at Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans. The program is an accelerated program and I am interested in going there. They have a ASN and BSN program. I wanted to know how their clinicals are and how many days students attend classes.

I applied to Charity School of Nursing and OLOLC. I need slightly more pre-requisites at OLOLC like Chem 100 and PSYC 230, but the program is shorter. Time is a huge factor. How does everyon with a Bach. degree feel about having to go back to school for RN training?

I had to get adjusted to the fact that I was returning to school. I just had to accept that their aren't many jobs in my field with a BS (chemistry). It was a blow to the pride but I had to do it.

Hi, I have applied to the accelerated program in New Orleans with OLOL, and I was wondering if you found out anything else since your last string? I also have a degree in Chemistry from LSU, but I am working for a staffing agency as a tech recruiter, and need more money/career. As a nurse I would like to either go to anesthesia school or work labor and delivery or maybe even get into clinical research. What is med-surg? Are you positive that you HAVE to work in that for 2 years? I was excited about training at Tulane b/c I hear its one of the best programs in the state, but I live in BAton Rouge, and I'm married so I will have other issues to deal with if I get accepted. I have also applied to a 2 year program in BR, but the 10 month options seems so much nicer. What do you think?

Has anyone heard back from OLOLC besides the letter acknowledging that they've received their application? Anyone begin interviews with them yet for entering class Fall 2005?

Interviews won't be until march or april, after the deadline. I wish it was a rolling process, b/c mine was the first application submitted for the 05 class. I guess we will all have to be patient.

Have you checked out William Carey College School of Nursing on the NOBTS campus, Gentilly Hwy? It's an 18 month BSN program. You can take your prereqs at Delgado or somewhere like that. It's kind of expensive, but with Tenet & other hospitals providing tuition reimbursement, it might be something to consider.

the charity hosptial system will pay for employees to go to school...i believe the accelerated programs are for lpn-rn or for rn to bs but it is a step in the door for those with limited funds...i believe that they will schedule your work hours around the school hours

They have nothing about it on their website. You have to call the school and request info. This is the second year of the program. Classes begin in January.
