Anyone in this program currently? Some feedback on the program, clinicals, work load/schedule would be much appreciated! Anything to share?

Thank you!! :balloons:

Are there any OU students here that have young children? I am starting Jan 20th and think the only thing that is stressful is making sure I find time for my kids (2 months and 2yrs old). Just curious. I have heard the warnings about the first semester and specifically the first 3 weeks, that it is essentially a cold splash of water. The way I am approaching it is that if I can suck it up for 14 months, I will be saving at least 10 months of class time and potentially 2 years on other schools wait lists.

I don't have any children but many of the students at OU have some. I know someone with three all under the age of 6! It can be done, it just requires more time management. Good luck!

I am also starting on the 20th, and i too have two young children, though not quite as young as yours. 2 and 4.5. It is nice to know that i won't be the only one! Which clinical group are you in?

wannabe - you have been so helpful and forthcoming with info. i know you proably have zero time to sit here on the boards listening to us stress out about the program. are you generally overwhelmed, or are you able to keep up without too much stress? time mangement is not my strong suit, and "flexible" schedules aren't that great when there is child care planning involved! I just want to make sure I can breathe for the next 14 months...

I am a second semester OU student in San Diego. I did so because of the excellence and reputation of OU. I have not been disappointed. It is very hard and not for the faint of heart.

The teachers are excellent and at the end of the day I know I'm going to be well prepared to take the NCLEX. The program is not totally online. While it's true OU is moving from the Cabrillo location, it will be relocated somewhere in the SD area. Just FYI...I have found the morale among students/faculty to be very high. Finally, there's a reason clinical facilities like to have OU students. They are smart, well prepared and want to learn.

Does anyone know when we'll know if we have been accepted or not for the summer entry?

Nevermind, I already found my answer!!
