My mom just called and is going to be transported by ambulance to the hospital to run some tests. She said that one of her fingers turned completely white, like all the blood drained from it, and by the time she arrived at the dr. office she and the dr. watched it turn purple along with the finger right next to it. The dr. thinks it could be a blood clot. Has anyone ever seen this or heard of it?

There are more than one thing that could have caused this... Raynaud's also comes to mind, which my nephew has. Try not to worry until they give you a reason to be worried.

an arterial clot can cause that,if that's the case they would need to do surgery. Hopefully it's not. Try not to worry until you find out for sure what's going on.

Any word?
It is Raynaud's Disease, Mom just called to tell me. Thanks for the responses. I don't know anything about Raynaud's Disease but will read about it. Just glad it isn't a blood clot.
phew! That's good it's not a clot.
