Ok to email a thank-you letter? Any advice?

Published

I'm a fairly new nurse (just graduated in fall 2010) and I interviewed at another hospital this morning. I am leaving my current employer due to issues with the working environment. The new position was suggested by a friend of mine who works on the unit. The interview went well and I want to send a thank-you letter to the clinical director. She gave me her card but it did not show an email...so I asked my friend and she gave it to me. Is it ok to email the thank-you letter or should I send it through the mail? Or both? Thanks for your suggestions!!

It would be fine to send it by e-mail, but she may not want it to be sent to her e-mail if its not on her card.

If she didn't give you her e-mail, I would NOT use it.

A hand-written card also carries a tone of putting some thought and effort into it that an e-mail just doesn't have. :)

Thank you notes should always be handwritten. An email thank you is in addition to, not instead of, a hand written and mailed, or hand delivered, note.

Hand write it. If an email address wasn't given to you, then don't go through the back door.
