Make sure you disclose any past misdemeanors or felonies when applying for the NCLEX. I had a misdemeanor that I was not guilty and was dismissed and forgot to put it on my application . Now I have to pay 1000 dollar fine, take a course and my license will say severely reprimand. Crazy right? I think so!! Any advice ?

Unfortunately, I have no advice to give other than to pay that fine and take that course. If you were supposed to disclose it but you failed to (either intentionally or you just forgot), then it's your fault.
But this is definitely a cautionary tale for any and all applicants with a criminal history. Tell your BON exactly what they are asking for, even if you don't think it's pertinent because it was dismissed, deferred, whatever. If you are not sure what they want you to disclose, contact your BON to find out exactly what they are looking for.
Keep in mind that there's 51 BONs out there (50 states plus DC) and they all look for slightly different things...just because you didn't have to disclose something to AZ's BON, doesn't necessarily mean you can do the same when applying for a TX license.
And if you have any questions regarding how to answer the BON's questions, you should consult with a lawyer.
Best of luck.
Not checking a box.. Is going to haunt me for the rest of my life!! Crazy

Your criminal history...your responsibility. Yep, it will haunt you. Not crazy--predictable.
Duh! That is why I am posting this for people to take it seriously!!! And be able to recall and document on your application any ARREST!!!!!!
Well it didn't sound like "duh"! It sounded like "I forgot my own criminal history and now the BON is persecuting me!
Crazy, right? I think so!!"

It is a little crazy that you can get in so much trouble for not disclosing an instance where you were charged with a crime and then it was dismissed for lack of evidence or you were found not guilty, but some actual criminals can get a charge expunged and then not have to report it. But I would always report everything to be safe.

I can believe my whole career is down the drain due to a mistake on the application !!!

So what class are they making you take? I'm sure my license (if I even get it) will say severely reprimand on it too, but chin up-- you're not the ONLY one with it on your license. Shockingly, a lot of nurses I know have made bad decisions in their younger years, and they are WONDERFUL nurses. And you will be too!!

Speak it into existence !! They are going to make me take a nursing jurisprudence class at Moore Norman which cost money. They are so strict, I saw a lawyer about it.. And she said the investigator who had just left the board would have gave me a second chance! She would've called and told me I had that dismissed case which I was suppose to put down. But this new lead investigator is trying to show whose boss and is punishing me to the full extent!!

Oh no!! My lawyer said the same thing about the investigator that just left the board!!! He said she was very fair and just. He said we needed to hope that this didn't go to the committee because ladies are sweeter when there are less of them in one location. LOL!
Oh goodness.. I'll take m risk in front of the committee . Hopefully they have a change of heart !
