Hi everyone. I applied to the CRNA program at OHSU starting in 2022. Wondering who else has applied and if anyone has heard anything back yet?!

Honestly, while I agree with everything you said conceptually and “in real life”, I still disagree that playing mind games during an interview is a good way of getting to know anyone (which is the whole point of an interview!) or a good reflection of how I am in a clinical setting with all my resources and training at my disposal. Having someone try to mentally torment you into questioning yourself about your confidence in an answer is by no means any indication of how successful someone will be under duress. Why torture someone when you could just communicate appropriately? 
 

Anyway, this is all besides the point. We are all here with our lives and our experiences as nurses. I’m sure absolutely NO ONE has gotten this far without experiencing adversity that they could talk about as a part of their growth in their careers. We have worked so hard to be here, with the years of grades, work, and stress and any joke of a work-life balance.

Take the words about them grilling you with a grain of salt, that’s a subjective statement. Each person interprets it differently. I literally nailed all my interview questions at my school, I felt like they were nice and asked a lot of questions but didn’t feel grilled. I have solid experience and really took the time to prepare. Another person that went before me, said they absolutely grilled her, she told me this 2 minutes before they called me in to my interview. I had a totally didn’t interpretation. 
 

Just keep that in mind is all I want to add. Maybe that person felt that way cause they weren’t truly prepared, I don’t know, but go in with open mind, take a deep breath and think through the questions. I had flash cards I made of 75 personal type questions and about 100 clinical cards made. I tried to research all types of questions that could be asked. It helped me hugely.

but thanks guys. This is sort of my “last chance”. I have applied and applied over the years to many schools and I always panic at the interview level and then don’t get it. I want this very badly, but it’s been rough and this is my last shot before I decide to walk away from the anxiety. It’s stupid to me that you play mind games during an interview, especially since that’s not indicative of real life ?? either way, I want to get in as this is my #1 school and is close(ish) to home. 
 

I’m focusing on CV, respiratory, shock, and code situations with my studying; have yet to prep for personality questions ?

How did everyone’s interview go?? Mine went okay! I was really jittery but I was myself and really felt like I did the best I could have ?

Can't quite say. Don't think I did too bad. -------------------------- kept asking a ton of clinical questions until the session was done. My brain hurt afterwards.

Nothing yet, I hear people should get calls within a week or 2. Did they ask you to leave your phone number?

Phone calls are supposed to go out today! I haven’t heard anything yet…

In one of the pre-interview informational sessions they said they’d be meeting & notifying people on Jan 14 via phone call!
