OHSU BSN, Fall 2021

Published

Hi, first post because I cannot find that much information about this!
Apps recently opened to OHSU's BSN program. I haven't decided if I want to apply to Ashland or Monmouth - I am currently in California (don't hate me Oregonians) but most of my family live close to those two campuses.

Anyone else start their application for OHSU yet?

Also - Any tips for essay question responses? I have a 3.9 GPA in the prereqs and overall, finished all prereqs, and have 4000+ hours of healthcare experience as a medical assistant, but I feel like I still might screw it up if I flub those responses.

that's awesome! I am still on the alternate list for the klamath falls campus. I have emailed them but they said that they are still reaching out to people that were accepted before they decide or contact any alternates (and the admissions person is on vacation). fingers crossed!! I have an associates degree and 5 years of medical field experience so I'm hopeful

La Grande. 3 year program. Figured it would be cheaper to live there and less competitive compared to Portland, etc.

Had zero relevant medical experience at the time of applying. All As in the prerequisites with one B in the social science portion I believe. That probably did it for me.

That is great news! I am an alternate for the portland campus so fingers crossed!

I got off the alternate list at Portland campus!

Congrats ! Nice work. What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking?

I applied to la Grande due to it being a cheaper place to live and less competitive. Also, I did the 3 year BSN since I don’t have a bachelors. Just sent my admissions agreement and deposit.

Thank you! Congratulations on getting at La Grande!

I don't have a bachelor's degree as well but my prereq GPA is 3.91, with about 1000 hours of CNA experience. Unsure whether I will be accepting the spot though. I still have a few days to think about it. Hope I make the right decision ?

I did my deposit, but still might accept another school over ohsu that I have not heard back from yet. You’ll make the right decision for yourself! Just be grateful of the opportunity to be recognized by a great program.

Did they ask you for a deposit? I accepted my spot but have not heard anything else back, probably just because of the holiday weekend I'm assuming

I just received my email saying they got my confirmation to accept and they will be sending "official" emails sometime this week with next steps. They havent asked me to pay a deposit yet either

And yes I already live in Klamath in an apartment complex. It's tough to find rentals right now but if you end up accepting a spot let me know and I can talk to my property manager for you.

Officially declined the spot I was offered at the Portland campus today. It's bittersweet but hopefully I made someone else's day! Best of luck to the fall 2021 cohort!
