Ohlone College FALL/Spring 2020/2021

Hi guys, I haven't seen anyone making a post for the 2020/2021 semester, so here it is!

Looks like the intent to enroll is not a guarantee. We emailed and called and sounds like they’re still figuring out who’s going to be admitted for Spring 2021. A little discouraging for us, but keep trying everyone either way!

Hi Justin,

I was also accepted in Spring 2021! Nice to meet you ?  Any news yet on how we get our paperwork done (I.e., physical, bloodwork, drug test)?

 

Also if there are any Fall 2020 students reading this thread still, can you please shed some light on how things are going right now for the Fall? Just feeling a little nervous due to the pandemic. Also, from the letter of intent to enroll, it sounds like school will be a little different this upcoming year. Thank you ?

Yay! Congrats. So far, all we can do is just wait for further instructions. Get your vaccinations and paperwork ready, etc. 

I'm sure that they'll have to mail or create digital order for drug test. Make sure you make appt right away when you receive it. 

I saw a facebook group for Nursing 2020/2021 for ohlone but not sure if they'll let new students in LOL

That would be awesome to join, LOL. Thank you for the tips, I will get my bloodwork and physical done and CPR.

I was wondering if anyone from the waitlist got a call/accepted yet? I would like to know up to what number they’ve reached out to already or if they have already filled all openings for Spring cohort.

I'm anxious too! I didn't get a confirmation email. I sent it twice just to be sure. I think they're just really busy. Yesterday was the last day to submit the form so I'm hoping they start to update the waitlist.

Hey guys! Congrats to everyone who got accepted and I wish the best of luck for those still on the waitlist. I'm a Fall student who is drowning in classwork right now, but I still want to hop on here and share what I know in the hop to ease your guys' anxiety ?

1. You won't get a reply after you send in the intent to enroll, if they have any problems, they will reach out to you.

2. Do your vaccines/drug tests as soon as you can so if any problems arise you have time to solve them.

3. Ohlone have this ambassador program in which you will be assigned to a higher classmate and you can reach out to him/her for support and questions. (You'll know more about the program during orientation day.)

4. For 301, we didn't go into any clinical sites, but we had a lot of in-person labs and took care of mannequins. They will ease you into the program, so just relax, you guys got this!

Thank you so much for the tips and advice. That was so helpful! ? I wanted to know if there was a specific timeframe we needed to get the physical and drug test and labwork completed. I completed my titers, PPD, and physical exam during Summer 2020, does Ohlone have any issues with the results being more than 6 months. 

I know some programs want bloodwork (I.e., titers and PPD) done within a 30-60 day timeframe. Thanks!!
