I can't remember the name of the medication? that pregnant women took many years ago, that caused quite a bit of anomaly for the baby....

I want the say the baby, if it was a female, had trouble getting pregnant or staying pregnant when she was older?

I'm just trying to remember what that scenario was all about? If any one can figure out what I am talking about and fill in the large blanks for me, that would be great!

Thanks......

The medication taken in pregnancy which caused reproductive problems in daughters was DES. It was given to try to prevent miscarriage.

Going further back, the major drug which caused serious birth defects in children was thalidomide.

DES = diethylstilbestrol. My mom took it. It is said that women whose mom's took it could be more likely to develop reproductive system cancers than others, and there's some believe it could cause problems for men too.

Thalidomide caused babies to be born with only stumps for arms and legs....
