Wow! They just raised ours, but not like that. Ours is
94-100=A
91-93=A-
88-90=B+
84-88=B
81-83=B-
75-80=C
Now, why in the world would they want to raise the scale. What if you had a bad semester or quarter and got like a 79.4. But the next quarter you pulled it to a B+. But then again, I guess this would motivate a student to work harder.
In our MS graduate program: 93% would have been an A-, 94% is an A.
Sometimes, even with that grading, they will still grade on a curve. In one course, Pharmacology...the highest overall total coursemark was 87% for 220200 students. No, it wasn't my score but I had the second highest and I got an 'A' for pharmacology.
So, I do think that schools also look at the bell curve and the overall difficulty of the exam.
Another thing, don't agonize over marks too much...life is too short. I have never had any interviewer ask me my GPA for my undergrad or grad degree.

Your grading scale seems more fair to me.. I'm curious to see how much mine will be raised:eek:

That is true Global. What bothers me is that I think the school is trying to make money off of the students, allowing them to take courses over if they don't pass the first time.

Heard that my program is thinking about raising their grading scale AGAIN !!
Right now it's
94-100 %- A
87-93 %- B
80-86 %- C
I'm curious as to how much more they can raise it !!
