At Kaiser in San Francisco a nurse tested positive for tuberculosis and exposed hundreds of patients which included mothers and newborn babies. My question is how often are nurses tested for these diseases?
We used to be required to be tested yearly but they've since decided that we live in a low risk area so now we're not tested that often. I can't remember what they changed it to, but let's say I've been employed at the same hospital for 4 years and haven't been required to get another tb test since my hire.

Upon hire, then annually thereafter. Residents are also tested on admission and annually.
