I just joined this forum and though I haven't used or drank in many years - all this writing and reflection has helped to see where my program is slipping - I am starting a new Job and Grad school so stress will be a big factor in my life for the next 3 years.
I decided since Husband and child are away today I will go to a meeting to reaffirm the principles of my recovery.
Have a great day everyone

So I went down to the place where I used to go all the time but the meeting doesn't start until 10 am so I'll go back - You might ask what brought this on - I looked at a statement I made to another poster where I basically said my relapse was different than their relapse - I said to myself "Wow that's addict thinking!!!!! Thanks for the reality check.

I love the meeting I go to on Friday morning at 8:30. One of the local treatment centers brings clients to this meeting & it's a great reminder to me that this disease is still out there kicking butt. I can't always stay for the whole meeting because I work the night before & am pretty tired but I stay as long as I can.
