heard it from Dr. Boulos herself!

i'm am currently in the nursing program [traditional], and from what i've heard of teachers/students there is no certainty that they will be offering the accelerated track again. they are still waiting to see how the students will progress. they are half way done and the 2nd half is the actual "accelerated" portion.

to the OP, you are not allowed to post the name of teachers in the forums.

I e-mailed Barbara Einhardt yesterday (she does the info sessions), she told me that nothing is certain until the trustee signs the contract. Obviously, the grant has been offered...it's just a matter of a signature. :dancgrp::dancgrp::dancgrp::dancgrp:

By OP you mean "other person?" That would be me-where are you finding all these rules? I am new at this and will not ask a name again. Thanks....

i meant original poster. i know this because i have seen the mods remove the name of teachers from several persons post and also post warnings.

a damsel, how do you like the nursing program? Is it as difficult as I've heard?

i like it ok :lol2: as with all things it has it's ups and downs. yes, what you have heard is correct, it is very difficult. everyday is a challenge. quite a few people have dropped [didn't want to be there anymore, didn't make the grade etc.]. others are barely making the B- that is require to pass. of course, some students are still maintaining their A's & B's, but not without a lot of effort.

Does anyone know if OCC is still offering the accelerate progam? I cannot find anything on their website regarding it.

what up bigdude, im the OP to this thread and graduated last Aug 27th. the accelerated prog looks like its going to be offered but its been cut to 30 students. the 1st and 2nd cohort were 60 students. from what it seems you pretty much need a 4.0 to get into the accelerated now. i got in with a 3.97and i think my classes cutoff was 3.85.

accelerated or not, OCC has the best prog in the state. GO THERE. anywhere i interview OCC is highly regarded and we have one of the best NCLEX passing rates in the country. Teachers are top notch and we have the most clinical hours in the state. our assessment labs are equivalent to NP preparation.

i cant say enough about this prog.

good luck

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. Are the prereqs the same? When you say 4.0 cumulative is needed are talking about the prereqs or my cumulative GPA from my Bachelors?

prereqs are the same. and your admission is based on your prereqs only. go into the highland lakes campus, and only the highland lakes campus. to talk to the counselors. the other campuses arnt as in tune and can steer you wrong.

Thanks for the info.

15 months instead of 28 months. what do you mean by a 3 semester BSN?? i would imagine you would have to have all your gen eds and prereqs done before getting into the BSN prog.
