  1. accelerated starts in may
  2. so which cohort are you first or second?
  3. anyway you take it, its alot of work. youll be in clinical 16-24 hours a week, theory 4-8 hours a week and lab 6 hours or so a week. im a huge slacker and was still averaging 15 or so hours of homework/papers/studying a week. the work isnt mind blowingly difficult, but there is so much of it!! consider yourself MIA while in the prog. also they are not dragging out the accelerated prog. there are no semester breaks, and the prog is one of the most comprehensive in the country. so far every interview ive been on the managers and HR have nothing but good things to say about it. also, out class is 100% so far in passing the NCLEX, OU & UofD arnt even close.
  4. 15 months instead of 28 months. what do you mean by a 3 semester BSN?? i would imagine you would have to have all your gen eds and prereqs done before getting into the BSN prog.
  5. prereqs are the same. and your admission is based on your prereqs only. go into the highland lakes campus, and only the highland lakes campus. to talk to the counselors. the other campuses arnt as in tune and can steer you wrong.
  6. what up bigdude, im the OP to this thread and graduated last Aug 27th. the accelerated prog looks like its going to be offered but its been cut to 30 students. the 1st and 2nd cohort were 60 students. from what it seems you pretty much need a 4.0 to get into the accelerated now. i got in with a 3.97and i think my classes cutoff was 3.85. accelerated or not, OCC has the best prog in the state. GO THERE. anywhere i interview OCC is highly regarded and we have one of the best NCLEX passing rates in the country. Teachers are top notch and we have the most clinical hours in the state. our assessment labs are equivalent to NP preparation. i cant say enough about this prog. good luck
  7. look up the highland lakes ASC, there are practice tests online. also, go into highland lakes ASC and get a bit of tutoring if need be. im in the accelerated track and ill be done in Aug. highland lakes counselors and ASC are the only ones that know whats up. good luck.
  8. so how long have you been in the program? did it get easier or harder as time went on?
  9. man 2 weeks in, and ive had enough already! maybe i had to much time off between finishing my prereqs and now. whatever it is, i need a good kick in the ass. feel free to kick away.
  10. what do you mean by last semester? do you mean last years 2008/2009 applicants? or applicants that will be accepted for 2009/10. Last year the cut off was 3.4, the extra students accepted to the accelerated program helped drop the cut off GPA . i didnt think they had released the GPA's for this comming year.
  11. heard it from Dr. Boulos herself!
  12. I've heard that there is a hiring freeze, and that overtime has been cut. Can anyone who works at Beaumont give a short synopsis of whats going on, and why? Thanks.
  13. how many total students does WCCCD accept every year?
  14. 3.97 one A- i think we'll be good, but why am i still nervous??
