Obscure OB uses for D10?

I distinctly recall using a D10 infusion on a patient in our ED observation unit. I am pretty confident she was pregnant but wasn't there for routine hyperemesis. I believe she was there for an obscure rare pregnancy- but I cannot recall what it was and it is driving me crazy. I have googled without luck. I thought maybe it was something like HELLP (but they never would have been in our observation unit). Then I looked up G6PD and PKU and had no luck. Do you know of any reasons why D10 is used (aside from hypoglycemia).

The memory was jogged last night by having a hypoglycemic dialysis pt that required D10- it was only the second time i used it- the first being the patient above. Thanks!

I have never heard of D10 being used in OB, and I can't imagine what that scenario would have been. We use it often in our NICU.

What is G6PD?

G6PD is an enzyme deficiency "Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase" Leads to the premature destruction of red blood cells. Most common among African and Middle Eastern males.

My guess would be some sort of fatty acid oxidation disorder as to why you would give 10% dextrose in this case, but...
