I distinctly recall using a D10 infusion on a patient in our ED observation unit. I am pretty confident she was pregnant but wasn't there for routine hyperemesis. I believe she was there for an obscure rare pregnancy- but I cannot recall what it was and it is driving me crazy. I have googled without luck. I thought maybe it was something like HELLP (but they never would have been in our observation unit). Then I looked up G6PD and PKU and had no luck. Do you know of any reasons why D10 is used (aside from hypoglycemia). The memory was jogged last night by having a hypoglycemic dialysis pt that required D10- it was only the second time i used it- the first being the patient above. Thanks!
