Is there anyone out there that has an OBLC date for 2010? I've read about the ones that are there now for the March OBLC, but what about the ones later this year? And if you have your OBLC date do you have your first duty assignment as well?

I graduate Jun 20, 2010 with my BSN and was direct commissioned in Jan. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect in about 8 wks. Any information would greatly be appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Hey there! I'm set for July's OBLC and will be stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. You brought me back to reality when you said 8 weeks!!!! Can't believe it's really that short of a time away!!! Have you found out where you will be going?

 I am so jealous of you! I meant that I would be graduating from my BSN program and eligible to apply for my BOLC... You are so lucky! How long did it take you to get your BOLC date once you applied? You're going to love Ft. Lewis. That was my last duty station. We actually lived in Olympia and loved all the surrounding areas. Is this your first time in or are you prior service? Not too sure about being in Texas during the summer months though... I go tomorrow to get my ID card and some uniforms. I'm hoping to get into a class this year. I'm so ready to get back in!!! Anyway, thanks for the reply and I look forward to hearing from you!!!

You were not able to board your application already? I graduate next week and have everything set up... I was accepted in September and found out about BOLC and my duty station almost 2 months ago. I'm so glad you have experienced with WA! I'm really excited about moving there and seeing what the state has to offer. What do you believe are the best places to live? I'm single, no kids, and would love to live in a nice townhome or condo. This will be my first time and in, so I'm a direct commission and know nothing about it the military! What about yourself?

I know I know!! TX in the summer should be quite interesting! I'm excited though and can't wait to get started. I hope everything works out good for you and that you can get into either August or Oct OBLC. Best of blessings!

I am a Direct Commission that boarded in either late October or early November and was accepted in December. I will be attending BOLC in July and will be stationed at Ft. Bragg which I hear is the Mecca of the Army. July is really rolling around quite quickly. The process for me has been less than a year, but I hear that it's not quite uncommon to have the process be approximately a year or more. I decided to join and contacted a recruiter in early October and things went by quite quickly for me except for the boarding process which was pretty long and drawn out. I hope you are able to attend BOLC soon and hopefully closer to the Fall because I hear that Texas heat in July is no fun, and some of us will be enduring enough for everyone soon. Good Luck!!!

I'm curious if you all have your paper orders for OBLC or just the recruiters info? I was told that your S1 in your command would set up your class, but that could be because I'm reserves. Do you have orders saying which OBLC class you are in?

We are active duty and our orders are established through HRC by Maj. Hairston. We received our dates and PCS location before Maj. Hairston went on maternity leave. Currently they are requesting funds and then we will receive our orders.

Thanks! It's so different with each branch, and whether it's reserves or AD.
