Specializes in Home Care.

What are your expected assessment findings of drug exposed newborns?

Breathing patterns? Weight? Nutritional status? Irritability?

What are your nursing priorities?

see https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/help-care-plans-286986.html - help with care plans for information on care plan construction. follow the steps of the nursing process (assess, determine the problem, plan care, put plan into action, evaluate). diagnosis (determination of a patient's nursing problems) is always dependent on what their signs and symptoms are. list the signs and symptoms that a drug exposed newborn would have. from those symptoms you will determine your nursing problems (nursing diagnoses), goals, and specific nursing interventions that will need to be done (like doctors, our nursing interventions also target the patient's symptoms).

there are weblinks to pediatric sites where you can find some of this information here: https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/medical-disease-information-258109.html - medical disease information/treatment/procedures/test reference websites. i would suggest starting with the kids health website: [color=#231f20]http://www.kidshealth.org
