what is the lowest hgb have you ever seen on a person? I had a 2.3 she ended up in the unit. heart rate 130 pressures 78/35. I was freaking

Oh my word. Where did all of her blood go?? The lowest I had was 4.3, and it was a 75% abruption. She too went to the unit after I watched her for a while and then her DIC panel showed 20,000 platelets.

2.9 hgb before delivery. 2.8 post delivery on a chronic anemic mom who had a previous spleenectomy. Totally asymptomatic. Dr. recommended blood transfusion, pt refused due to being Jehovahs witness. Baby had normal hgb levels. pt discharged home on day 2 NVD

I cannot recall but I think it was somewhere around 4. Scary is right.

I saw a Hct of 2.8 (not Hgb, Hct) on a newborn once. He was a bit pale.
