I had my baby 2 weeks ago and I named her Ruby Abigail. I know it is not commonplace- but it seemed such a sweet name and it fit her so well.
Your daughter's name is beautiful. Not weird at all.

A child at preschool with my older daughter was named Precious Angel _____. The mom finally had a girl after several boys. My daughter is 26 now, I have often wondered what happened to Precious.
Weirdest name- Greenjello and Orangejello- twins at my kids middle school.
Next weirdest- Mario and Luweege Twins again. Guess mom couldn't spell it.
Funniest spelling of a weird name. Ponsa Delayon (First and middle names)Last name left out to protect the just plain stupid. You will just have to guess who he was named after. Think explorer of the world.

Ruby reminded me that I had a friend whose mother was Opal. Opal had two sisters, Ruby and Pearl.

I thought it was nice that their parents thought they were "Jewels."

I had to go back and check the Family Tree list to make sure I remembered these names correctly. I left out the family (last) name to keep the relatives from being mad at me. These kids were from a very large family and I guess the parents just go tired of coming up with names. Child 14 was named "Fivemoregirls" and child 16 was named "Twomoreboys". Honest! It's there in the family record.

My initials get me in trouble/teased on paperwork all the time (you would think we are in junior high still). We are supposed to use only our two letters as you do ........making yours appear as a time meaning but I refuse to put BM on all of my charting (lifelong scars I guess), so I add my middle initial to everything. Instructors would get mad at me during nursing school but I explained that my whole life I have been BSM and I am not changing it.

My brother almost had the initals of DAM (middle name Allen) but my dad caught it in time and his middle name is Kevin instead. I just wish he would have realized what the two initial version did to me.

That's a lot better than the family I knew growing up who named their daugters Brandy and Sherry.

Everybody thought the parents had a drinking problem.

We transported an NICU team from their hospital to another to pick up a micropreemie. While passing by the nursery I saw the name "Winnie the Pooh" at the head of a crib. I chuckled, thinking it was a joke. The nurse looked at me dead seriously and said "No, that's for real. Mom's only 14."

I have one I believe to be one of the best. There was a black woman who had twin boys. She named one Orangejello(or on jello) and the other Lemonjello(lem on jello)

My husband sold cars for a while when he was looking for another job. One of the last names of one of the other car salesmen was Keyes. Anothers last name was Carr. I thought that was sort of neat.

I went to shool with a girl named Sandy Beach. We have an OB/GYN whose last name is Gass. I would have to change mine!!

There is a Dr. Krisp at Vanderbulit in Nashville. He works at the Burn unit!!

Regarding the wacky names people give to their kids, it is funny reading them, but I think those parents should be shot for making their kids have to go thru life with those kinds of monikers!!
