in 1980 I cared for a baby in the NICU named "Fukheem" The 15 year old mother said the name was made up and that it came to her in a vision and it was in honor of the baby's father! We just called the baby "little guy" beause we couldn' say his name with a straight face .

Other memorable babies from the NICU: Melena, Loveliss, Sasparilla...all girls.

There is a lawyer I know who is really named "Candy Barr"

Recently came across a contributor to a scholarly paper I was quoting: his name was Richard Dick. Dick Dick. Poor guy. Should've just named him Harry and been done with it.

There was a lady (very nice) in another department from me named Cinnamon Wild...

A fellow 2nd grader named Thomas Thomas and another named Kathryn (Kitty) Tinklepaugh...

Friend of a friend who is now named Penny but was born "Plenty"...

:angel2: I thought the weird names the babies were given only happened in my hospital. I have had 2 weird name experiences. 1) a mother named her daughter Vagina -pronouced Va Gina and 2) Areola-the Dr tried to talk the pt out of naming the poor child this, but the mother named her that anyway.

You think that's bad - my sister delivered 2 years ago and went back for her 2 week check up and the Nurse who delivered her baby said that she had an Indian woman come in and name her daughter Shithead pronounced "shi-theed". The nurse tried to explain to her how it would be pronounced here, but the woman insisted on keeping the name.

Can you just imagine this girl on her first day of school??? Poor girl!!!

2 names that I will never forget in all my years of nursing are "Excretia" for a girl and a Mrs. Wiser who named her little boy "Bud"

    Hey everyone,

I work in OB as a tech and will become an RN on my floor in December. We were just talking about this on our floor the other day. We had twins born and one (the little one 2lbs. smaller than her sister---blonde and very fair complected) was Charizma. Her sister was dark skinned, brunette and Jozcelynn. Also one of the favorites for little boys--have had two named BRAXTON in the past week.
