Terrific News about PIH

  1. I heard this on tonight's news and I was truly excited!. It looks like a major medical breakthrough in the detection of PIH may allow for earlier identification and better treatment. This has always been a topic I have been especially interested in. Here's the link. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6786012/

I heard about this on radio news this morning and read about it on BBC website. It's an interesting development and maybe will prove more practical for women who don't have access to uterine artery doppler. Unfortunately, as pointed out in the BBC article by the Professor from Cambridge, detection is still only one step, finding an intervention to stop the disease developing is the real challenge.

wow that is promising, it would appear. At least someone is REALLY working on it; we NEED breakthru's. PIH seems to be increasing in occurence.....as mom's put off childbearing into late 30s and 40s; it's a huge issue for us all.

That is great! Having had PIH in my first pregnancy (resulting in delivery of a 32 weeker) and now dealing with controlled chronic hypertension in this pregnancy, I'm glad to see this info.

    Thanks for posting the link!
