OB drug book???

I was wondering if there is such a thing? My OB clinicals start next week and I have to make med cards for almost every kind of drug a women might be on. I thought a drug book that just focused on OB would help a lot! Any ideas???

I've worked OB/NICU off and on for 20+ years and haven't seen one, but your best resource would probably be AWHONN. Good luck.

We had to do the same thing for our rotation, our instructor provided us with a list of common OB meds to make cards for (it wasn't very long, maybe 20-30 meds). The meds can be found in you standard drug hand book. If you are looking to cut down on prep time, consider splitting the work with friends since you all have to make the same cards. Also if you can't find one or two of the meds in your drug book, ask a friend it's probably in theirs or look online.

I'm not sure this is exactly what you are looking for but we have a book on our unit called "Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation" that works real well for MDs/Nurses that need to answer questions for their pts about a drug they are on. When ever I started a new rotation I went to the floor a few days or 2 weeks before and asked if i could write down the stock drugs on the unit. This usually gave me a good idea of the more common drugs used. You caould also speak to the pharmacist in the hospital, they should have a list of them.
