Here's a question that didn't come up for me until just yesterday. I admitted a Newborn Infant under NH Medicaid, but when I went to fill out the Oasis, I was stumped. Many of the questions required repsonsive client. Hearing, vision, pain, plus many others could not be properly addressed and there is no N/A choice for these. Does anyone have suggestions?

In all of my home care, I have never filled out an OASIS on anyone under the age of 18, or on any patient without Medicare. We have a comprehensive assessment, but no oasis questions on it. Do you have something like that? Maybe your QA person can shed some light?

OASIS is not done on anyone under 18. Even then, the questions do not always apply to some clients!

Oasis is not typically required on pediatric patients.
