Hey guys! Has anyone been able to apply to Oakland University AFTER the first August 1st deadline (matriculation Fall 2024)? Their program website says that their app is available on nursingcas through January 1st, 2024. However, when I go to find their program on NursingCas, nothing populates for me to apply?

Try searching NursingCAS for their Summer start? The option at the top of the drop down. That's where I found it when I applied, but I also applied for the early deadline. Fingers crossed for you!

I found it! Thank you so much! It was odd, I had to apply on the 2023 NursingCas app and all of the other schools I am applying to are on the NursingCas 2024 app LOL. Best wishes for you! OU is my alma mater so I am hoping I get in! Currently living out of state so I am also widening my net of schools to apply to!

Glad it worked out! How did you like undergrad there? I assume good enough to reapply LOL. I used to work as an anesthesia technician before nursing school. Every CRNA I talked to said to apply everywhere and go where you're accepted. I think a wide net is the right approach, too! Best of luck to you ??

Overall, my experience was good. There were some hiccups, but looking back on it, it could have been worse LOL. Oakland is a great school over all and I loved the location!

Has anyone interviewed yet? If so how was your guys's experiences?

I interviewed and got accepted but I think I am going to chose Wayne State. The interview itself is very down to earth and simple, about 15 min. And then a 15 min simulation experience as well!

Congratulations on getting accepted! Was the interview more emotional intelligence questions or clinical based? Would you mind sharing your stats as well? ?

It was more emotional, no clinical questions at all. I worked in MICU for 2 years, was a head of a committee, a preceptor, and charge nurse. I scored above average on my CCRN exam (I can't remember exactly). I went to OU as my undergrad and had a 3.98 GPA.

Thank you very much for sharing ? If you do not mind me asking, what made you decide to pick OU verses Wayne? I have seen a few other users here state that they decided to either go with Wayne over OU or UofD over OU and I am curious as to your reasoning.

I felt like the personalities of the students and faculty I met at Wayne fit me better than those at OU. Wayne also doesn't have distance clinical sites (like the U.P), and OU requires you to take a graduate stats class prior to program start. Overall it's been a super tough decision and I think both programs are outstanding

Oh wow! I was unaware of the graduate stats class prior to matriculation. Is that information on their website? Did the faculty at either school share with you how many qualified applicants they had for this application cycle?
